Your final step to becoming an EcoSmart Business and making the journey towards carbon neutrality is to purchase carbon offsets.
Essentially, when you are purchasing offsets you are paying for something or someone else to make a reduction in greenhouse gases that is equivalent to the amount you are producing. Offsetting is a great way to reduce your emissions when you can't reduce your emissions any further through energy efficiency measures or by using renewable energy.
It's based on the principle that, since climate change is a global problem, an emission reduction made elsewhere has the same positive effect as one made locally.
